YARD SUPERVISOR [TRANSPORT / LOGISTICS] Introduction
Our client, based in Durban is looking for a Yard Supervisor to join their team.

Duties & Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations of the yard, including organising and supervising yard activities.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols, particularly regarding hazardous chemicals (HAZ CHEM).
Lead and motivate yard personnel to maintain productivity and efficiency.
Oversee equipment maintenance and repairs, especially on trucks.
Handle breakdown situations efficiently and effectively to minimize downtime.
Operate forklifts and other machinery safely and responsibly.
Collaborate with other departments to facilitate smooth workflow and communication.
Maintain accurate records of yard activities and inventory.
Provide training and guidance to yard staff as necessary.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Matric
Experience in a similar role, preferably in a logistics or transportation environment.
Mechanical background with knowledge of truck maintenance and repair.
Possession of a valid driver’s license and forklift license.
Previous supervisory experience
Ability to work flexible hours as required to meet operational demands.
