We are seeking an executive level and qualified individual for our education division (scientific), a nonprofit, public benefit organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
Main job function
To lead and manage the Education Division and making sure the vision, mission and conservation objectives are fulfilled.
To ensure the delivery of marine conservation education in support of the division’s World experience’, to enhance their appeal, relevance, commercial viability, and conservation objectives.
To ensure that the Education division maintains its reputation as a centre of excellence and a centre of influence in respect of marine and coastal conservation education. Using your knowledge of current local and global trends in marine and coastal conservation; education and skills development; public interface, communication, and entertainment; and the interpretation of exhibits; you will:
Provide world-class formal education opportunities on nature conservation and the marine and coastal environment to learners, through innovative and interactive lessons, guiding, courses, workshops, outreach programmes and other means.
Provide world-class informal education opportunities on nature conservation and the marine and coastal environment, to stakeholders visiting and to the public at large, through presentations, exhibits, interaction, and interpretation.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications
Post Graduate degree, preferably in a related field.
Experience/Criteria
At least 5 years’ experience working in a senior management and in a professional conservation environment, at the interface of education and training.
