Introduction
Delheim Wines in the Simonsberg region is looking for a Hospitality manager for their day restaurant. The candidate will manage the on site day restaurant and tasting room.
Duties & Responsibilities
Managing and evaluating of restaurant and tasting room staff. This would include disciplinary action if needed. Includes training and employee turnover.
Ensure adherence to relevant legal, health and safety regulations and guidelines. This includes liquor licences, SAMPRA, SAMRO etc.
Planning and strategizing with senior management on generating more income and getting feet to the property.
Establish standards in customer service in meeting and greeting guests and housekeeping as to ensuring premises (front of house, tasting room, kitchen and bathroom) is clean, and in a working condition.
Complaints handling if needed.
Organising functions and events, liaising with guest, following up with payments, creating special menus if needed.
Liaise with chef on menuplanning and costing. Responsible for food and beverage costing, including wastage.
Checking of supplies and equipment quantity and quality daily.
General maintenance of inside and outside of hospitality facility. This would include planning the service and upkeep of machinery used in hospitality.
Implementation of new systems as and when needed.
Work rosters, including weekends as normal trading days.
Security in opening and closing of restaurant and tasting room.
Stock control and inventory management, including managing of daily stock counts. This includes accurate stock takes.
Daily / weekly preparation of sales report, compared to stock movement and evaluating variances.
Reconciliation of management accounts, cashups, function revenues to expenditure.
Proper recordkeeping of all income and expenditure.
Create and manage budgets, review variances and provide reasons on discrepancies.
Liaising with the marketing department on promoting the destination.
Desired Experience & Qualification
High level strategic planning.
Excellent personal presentation, communication and management skills of customer experience.
Management of staff planning, controlling and executing to set standards.
Disciplinary procedures
Health and safety experience.
Excellent written, financial and problem-solving abilities.
English essential, Afrikaans/German beneficial
Own transport essential
Excel, POS (Lightspeed beneficial), Other Microsoft office products
Flexible working hours, 3 weekends per month non-negotiable.
Candidates from surrounding areas (+-30km from the estate) will be given preference.
