Introduction
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Air Conditioning Technician to join our facilities team at Mine and House Complex in Kathu in the Northern Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of air conditioning systems, ensuring optimal performance and comfort within our industrial and residential environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and service on air conditioning systems across various facilities at Mine and House Complex.
Diagnose and repair faults in air conditioning equipment including split systems, ducted units, and centralized cooling systems.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work sites.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely resolutions.
Conduct system performance assessments and recommend improvements or upgrades.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, service schedules, and equipment inventories.
Collaborate with the facilities management team to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize disruptions to operations.
Provide technical advice and support to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs related to HVAC systems.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Technical diploma or certification in HVAC or a related field.
Proven experience as an air conditioning technician with a minimum of 10 years for Site Manager, 5 years for HVAC Technician and 3 Yearsfor HVAC Technician Assistant in Mining or large residential settings.
Strong understanding of air conditioning repair, maintenance, and installation techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
Familiarity with safety standards and regulations relevant to HVAC work.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical fitness and ability to handle manual labor tasks.
